| | Today I learned an important lesson about defrosting freezers. No matter how much faster it seems that the process will go if you use a screwdriver and a hammer, you are wrong. The aesthetic pleasure of leveraging huge chunks of ice off the top and sides of your freezer pales in comparison to the oh-shit moment when you hear a hiss and realize that you've gone too deep.
When I sheepishly called the landlady, I found that she was out of town for the next several days. This should be a fun week...
